the very last one in a very long line

Teodoro Jose, Jr

My uncle Ted passed away today. I got the call from my mother while I was at work. I am sad, but I’m also relieved. His suffering has ended, and he is at peace with God. I now pray for my aunt and especially for my cousins. They are young, and it is very hard for them to accept that their father is gone from this world. I can’t imagine what they are feeling.

My uncle was a great man, fun to be around, and very loving. He was a family man who loved his boys very much.

I will certainly miss …

  • his smile. Always smiling and laughing.
  • his style. He was the definition of “smooth”.
  • his love for sports. He loved watching his NY teams play, and he was a great tennis player and golfer.
  • his passion for music. He loved all kinds, but The Beatles ruled his world. I remember listening to him play the piano and singing; he was a good singer.
  • our little chats. When we could, we would talk about anything, whether it was sports, family, and life in general. When I was troubled as a teen, I didn’t like it that the family knew of my problems. He assured me that things would work out, everyone would support me, and I had nothing to be ashamed of.

We will miss you, Tito Teddy. We all love you.
