rambling
So much is happening these days, I don’t even know where to begin.
My headaches come and go. Work is not as stressful as I try to continue to separate both jobs. I was assured that my replacement will be starting in a few weeks. With the remodel finished, IT is somewhat back to normal.
That is, if you consider chaos, poor leadership, lack of communication, and no motivation “normal”. My partner has been assured a position as operations manager, but they already have her playing the part much to her dismay. She’s feeling the stress and disgust I was going through a month ago. I don’t know how long she’ll last; she already dreads coming to work each day.
St Louis is a baseball town, and it’s great to have the Cardinals in the World Series (for the 2nd time in 3 years). They may have had a so-so season, but the Redbirds have played well this postseason. Tonight is the first game of the fall classic to be played at the new Busch Stadium. That whole mess with Kenny Rogers and the suspected “substance” on his hand is ridiculous. Maybe Tony LaRussa should’ve made a big issue about it during the game, but I agree with him that Game 2 is done, and we should all move on. Even after Rogers cleaned off his hand, he still pitched 7 innings of nasty stuff.
Heroes – have you seen this show? This is what they really meant when it comes to “Must See TV”! This show is OUTSTANDING! The characters have a lot of depth, and the storytelling is, in my opinion, much better than Lost. Watching “Heroes” is like reading a new comic book issue each week. This is certainly a keeper when it comes out on DVD.
Time for users to choose – and I don’t mean the upcoming elections. Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7 last Tuesday (you may already have it if you have Automatic Updates turned on), and Mozilla released Firefox 2.0 today. I personally prefer Firefox. I’ve used it for 2 years now; it’s safe, customizable, and it uses tabs (of course, IE7 now has tabs, but it sure took them long enough). It seems as if RSS feeds are better handled by IE, but I haven’t had a chance to play with feeds in Firefox.
Fox just released the trailer for the 6th season of 24 – looks sweet! Jack Bauer is back baby!
