parking violations
I need to print some of these for CL and myself. You know, keep them handy in the glove compartment just in case.
Thanks to Venomous Kate for the link!

Top Five Songs you love from artists you hate

- “Let’s Get It Started” – Black Eyed Peas

- “Toxic” – Britney Spears
- “All I Want For Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey – tis not the season, but a guilty pleasure nonetheless
have a Coke and a smile (and some free music)
Two years ago, I drank a lot of Pepsi to collect caps giving me a free download off of iTunes.
In the biggest music promotion in history, Coke and iTunes have teamed up to give away 2 billion free iTunes downloads to lucky Coke drinkers over 4 months.

Looks like I’ll be drinking a lot of Coke this summer.
tony and the animals
I’ve been enjoying The Tony Kornheiser Show on Washington Post Radio. I’ve watched Tony take on Mike Wilbon on ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption (PTI), and he’s a hoot. When I discovered his radio show on iTunes, I was hooked for life. This show is so funny and entertaining that it has become my favorite podcast.
[UPDATE: Tony can now be heard on 3WT Radio]
One of the running themes on his show is the theory that animals are planning a revolt against the human race. Listen to Tony read “Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary”:
Then listen to Tony read “Excerpts from a Dog’s Diary”:

Where we ate for Mother’s Day. I’m not a big steak person, but this place has the best steaks I ever had.
17/365 – my new cell
I got a new cell phone yesterday, an LG VX5300. Nothing fancy. It has a basic VGA camera with a flash. I am not a big fan of the cameras on phones, so this was no big deal for me. It does not record video, nor does it play video. It doesn’t even play MP3′s. Why would I need that on my phone? I have an iPod that does this already, so it would be a useless function.
This one is Bluetooth enabled, as my previous Motorola was not. Will I get myself a cool Bluetooth headset? Maybe, but I rarely use my cell phone, so that would probably be a wasted purchase. I do need a case or a belt clip (I can’t believe it didn’t come with one). I hate putting my phone in my pocket, and I carry enough crap already.
CL and D each got a RAZR, well, because they look nice (or as D would say, “cool”). We were told to steer away from them as people have said they’ve had problems with them. The way I saw it was, if we run into problems, we lost nothing really because the phones were free.
i'm lacking
I’m severely lacking time, motivation, and content for this blog. Not that I will stop doing this altogether; I just feel the need to explain for the lack of updates. The “365″ project/experiment is on hold until I take more pics (they all seem to be of Salem lately). Occasionally, if I can give good answers, I’ll throw out a meme here and there. I’m not finding any good Digg news or links to post either. So bear with me as I deal with climbing Everest again at work (the ever-changing LOT) for the next 2 weeks. Come Memorial Day weekend, I’ll be on vacation with my family, my sister and her family, and my folks in Orlando, so I’ll be sure to post updates and pics of what we’re doing.
If you really care about what I’m doing daily, check out my Twitter posts in the sidebar.

junior's flexible
I changed my theme again. I like the darkness of the previous theme, but it wasn’t flexible. I’m referring to the width of the page; if you’re desktop setting was at 800 x 600 or less, you’d have to scroll to see the rest of the page. This one is flexible, regardless of your desktop setting. It has a simple look to it, and I’m able to throw my trademark header image at the top, too. I don’t plan on changing themes again anytime soon (I absolutely hate it when D changes his MySpace layout everyday), but I will probably be tweaking the colors so it’s all evenly balanced.
a lot of L.O.T.
I’m on day 3 of my biweekly 4 day weekend. However, I went to the office for several hours today to get caught up on some lab order table (L.O.T.) coding. I could easily go to work on Monday and work 8-hour days this week instead of my typical 10-hour shift. But it has been very difficult to focus on tasks with all the distractions that come with a Monday. I recognize Sunday as a day of rest, but I actually got more done in 3 hours today than I would on a Monday. I already know this week will be my busiest ever due to the extensive coding that awaits me in the LOT. Super-user training begins the following week, and I’d like to have the bulk of the job done by then. But I also know that I need the time off. I cherish my days off; it’s perfect for me to relax, unwind, and “recharge my batteries”. I believe returning to work on Monday and working a full 5-day week would make me feel more stress than I’d really want these days.

My poor puppy. He’s been going through some pain the past several days. We’re not sure what it is. Salem grunts or cries when jumping down off the bed, down from his window, or even going down the stairs. We try to keep him from jumping up (in a lot of cases, he can’t contain his excitement). We placed a temporary “bench” by his window so he can take it easy getting down.
He seemed to be worse this morning, crying when CL tried moving him on the bed. He was pretty mopey. He hadn’t gotten up to go out at all last night; we had to make him go before I left for work. Tomorrow, he sees the vet for his yearly shots; we’ll see what they have to say.
