the very last one in a very long line

With the writer’s strike in full swing, here’s a little something for Jack Bauer fans … 24: The Unaired 1994 Pilot

Is '24' running out of time?

Jack Bauer
The 6th season of 24 has been repetitive, long, predictable, and sad to say it, boring. I purposely missed the last 2 episodes, and I quit taping it this past Monday. My favorite show on television for the past 5 years has now been replaced by Heroes.

“It hurts to hear the criticism,” said executive producer and writer Howard Gordon, “But it’s reinvigorated our determination to reinvent the show. This year could be seen to be the last iteration of it in its current state.”

I believe Jack Bauer will be back next year; I hope he has another bad “day” (and a great season for us fans).

rambling

So much is happening these days, I don’t even know where to begin.

My headaches come and go. Work is not as stressful as I try to continue to separate both jobs. I was assured that my replacement will be starting in a few weeks. With the remodel finished, IT is somewhat back to normal.

24 just finished it’s 5th “day”, and what a day it was. Was it the best season? I can’t say that for sure, but it was definitely entertaining. I’ve seen the 1st, 2nd, and 4th seasons in their entirety (I will start watching the 3rd on DVD soon). Each one is fantastic in its own right. And the 5th one left everyone hanging until next January; it won’t come fast enough for me. If you haven’t watched this show, you don’t know what you’re missing. What are you waiting for???

update 031506

just trying to keep it simple:

  • IT had a chili cook-off today. CL’s chili won 3rd place, out of 6. God’s chili won 1st, as predicted, of course.
  • 24 lost a great character in Tony Almeida on Monday. Jack has lost 3 people close to him in the last 13 hours, and his own daughter won’t talk to him. He may have broken down crying at the end of the episode, but we know how Jack will bounce back, pissed off and seeking vengeance. The show is going to heat up now.
  • March Madness begins tomorrow, and I still haven’t made my picks!!

Gotta go make my picks …

24 – 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Two fantastic hours of 24 last night! Halfway through this “day”, and things are getting interesting again for Jack Bauer. The good – Jack’s visit to the Henderson home; the bad – nerve gas in CTU (and another loss); and the ugly – C. Thomas Howell as Kim’s new boyfriend??
